The
Mike Alesko Design Scholarship Committee is proud to announce the
very first MADSF winner of the 1999-2000 academic year: Marcus Rader!
Marcus received a scholarship award to be used towards his school
tuition.
Marcus
recently graduated from Garfield High School in the Seattle School
District and will be attending Pratt University in New York where
he plans to pursue a career in apparel design. Marcus has been a
member of the Honor Roll since his freshmen year. He is also an
extremely talented artist and has won various awards including the
Martin Luther King Art Competition in Seattle. His talents range
from photography to iron works to design sketches to paintings.
In fact, last summer, Marcus participated in the painting of a two
thousand square foot mural in Seattle's SODO Art Corridor.
Marcus is very involved in the community and devotes long hours
of work at the Habitat for Humanity, the Woodland Park Zoo, the
Rotary Boys and Girls Club and the Neighborhood Clean up Project.
There is no doubt in our minds that Marcus Rader is a very deserving
winner of the MADSF. |
